Proud to Support the USVI with Creating Innovative Hazard Mitigation Renovation Projects

Witt O’Brien’s is working closely with the U.S. Virgin Island’s Government, Virgin Island Territorial Emergency Management Agency (VITEMA), the Office of Disaster Recovery (ODR), and the Virgin Islands Fire Service (VIFS) on the Herbert L. Canegata (Richmond) Fire Station Wind Retrofit Project. We’re honored to be working on this innovative hazard mitigation project which will restore all three buildings and make them more resilient to wind events. In addition to the facility improvements, the grant money provided by FEMA under the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) covers upgrades to exterior lighting, security cameras. electrical and HVAC, communications, etc.

We are proud of our hazard mitigation team for all the hard work they’ve put into the mitigation programs in the Virgin Islands and transferring their knowledge to help the territory and its people become more resilient.
