Juan Bossano is from Louisiana and because of that fact disaster recovery has innately been a big part of Juan’s life.. From a professional standpoint, Juan has gained valuable experience in multiple areas of hazard mitigation by working on the Katrina and Sandy recovery efforts. No recovery thus far, however, has presented as many unique challenges and opportunities for creativity as with the U.S .Virgin Islands recovery effort. Juan has led the overall effort to draft mitigation applications ranging from ‘ghut’ drainage improvements to vertical sheet flow flood mitigation measures and coral and mangrove restoration. All of these massive undertakings were intensified by the geographical and financial challenges facing the U.S. Virgin Islands.

We look forward to seeing you in Cleveland!
