O’Brien’s Vessel Services team conducted their 2017 Annual Incident Management Team Tabletop Exercise (IMT TTX)*  in Long Beach, California at the Marriott on March 9 and 10. Over 150 attendees observed or participated in our annual large-scale emergency response exercise and training seminar.

This challenging exercise tested interaction, communication, and problem solving between the Incident Commander, Federal and State On-Scene Coordinators, and IMT members, including the USCG, California Office of Spill Prevention and Response (OSPR), OSRO, SMFF, the vessel operator’s representative, P&I club correspondents, and other stakeholders in the critical stages of a vessel casualty. This year's worst case discharge scenario involved increased salvage and marine firefighting complexities in addition to an oil spill near Long Beach, CA resulting from a collision of two vessels.
