Building Resiliency

Witt O’Brien’s has a long history of providing global support and oil spill prevention services to oil and gas companies. Our expertise and experience cover the initial exploration and production of oil from our Upstream clients, to the collection and transport of oil by our Midstream clients, to our Downstream clients and their refining and distribution activities. We help our clients return as quickly as practical to pre-event operating status following an incident. We impact resilience with four cornerstones: Prepare, Respond, Communicate, and Recover. Complementing our professional oil spill management services, we have developed, tested, and implemented web based tools to support these four cornerstones.

Witt O’Brien’s has assembled a multi-disciplined team of subject matter experts to conduct gap analyses. We stand alone when it comes to our ability to provide gap analysis services, which include identifying industry benchmarks for planning, response, and communication services. Once benchmarks are identified, an interactive process of interviewing and an inspection(s) are completed, and the draft results are presented to the client. The client then either confirms the draft results or re-tasks the team for confirmation of a differing opinion. The process repeats and the gap analysis is formalized and becomes actionable.

From oil exploration platforms to shopping centers, pipelines to airports, the smallest terminals to the largest refineries, and tug boats to massive ships, Witt O’Brien’s Security Services provides clients with the confidence that their security management programs will meet the regulatory requirements of governments worldwide.

Witt O’Brien’s separates itself from the competition because all of our trainers are also responders. We add real-world experiences to the academic learning environment. Our trainers include former agency emergency managers, chemical engineers, college educators, firefighters, law enforcement, public information specialists, public sector emergency managers, regulatory responders, scientific support specialists, and search and rescue specialists.

Respond

CommandPro® was developed by the world’s most experienced and knowledgeable emergency preparedness teams. The software is most noted for its universal access and complete integration. This affords organizations the ability to respond faster and with greater resource control.

On a daily basis, emergency incidents and planned activities are continuous and ongoing. Maintaining situational awareness of events and activities can be challenging and time consuming. Witt O’Brien’s Common Operating Platform (COP) enables current situational awareness with access to information and real-time data through the medium of a dynamic map for use by emergency management personnel and other authorized officials. If an incident evolves into an extended emergency, Witt O’Brien’s COP scales and provides a complete Incident Command System (ICS) module with all of the appropriate ICS forms and maps to develop a standard Incident Action Plan (IAP).

When time matters most, clients rely on Witt O’Brien’s experienced qualified individuals and watch standers. Located in Slidell, Louisiana, our 24/7/365 Command Center is operated by trained responders and is the first call for the majority of our clients.

We have worked with government and industrial response teams at the local, state, federal, and international levels and are well-versed proponents of National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS) for response. Witt O’Brien’s leverages extensive knowledge of FEMA and other federal agencies and state emergency management programs to make sure your response operations are properly documented. This provides accountability, maximizes your ability to obtain reimbursement for potentially eligible costs, and facilitates the transition from response operations to recovery implementation.
